The History
WHERE WE STARTED
Clonmore Farm was set up in 2019 by Barbara & James Quinn on the plains of Clonmore close to the foot of the Galtee Mountains, outside Cahir town in County Tipperary.

Farming is rooted into both of our family’s history for generations and shaped our identity today. We grew up on farms and worked on them throughout our youthful years. You could say it’s sown into the fabric of our genes. We have always loved the outdoor life, starting out our professional growing career within the Mushroom industry in 1992 on a small plot of land in the unique Drumlin hills of North Monaghan.

Seizing a new opportunity we decided to relocate to the scenic Suir valley, nestled between the Galtee and Knockmealdown Mountains in south Tipperary near the beautiful heritage town of Cahir. We started up our Mushroom Farm once again with an ambition to achieve perfection. We were accredited by Bord Bia, Global Gap and Nurtures choice with 100% compliance. Over the years we have received many awards for hygiene, quality and safety, receiving the National award for hygiene and quality on three occasions.
However we were casualties of Brexit in 2016 and were forced to close our enterprise. This gave us an opportunity to follow our dream to produce organic and healthy food and knowing how important family wellbeing is. We both decided to undertake a certificate in organic salad and vegetable growing in 2019 in County Clare through N.O.T.S and then moving on to build our first poly tunnel for salads and vegetable production on our land which is in conversion to organic farming.
The Now
CLONMORE FARM LTD
Presently we are engaged with the Local Enterprise Office in Clonmel and have benefited greatly from their fantastic training and mentoring. In the spring of 2020 we applied to Supervalu's Food Academy programme learning much about food safety, marketing, planning and supply.
Getting to know their very experienced and helpful team along the way has helped progress us to being offered the opportunity by Supervalu to join the Food Academy producers of Ireland. Amongst many benefits this will enable us to create jobs in all areas of our business so we can continue to deliver flavoursome food twelve months of the year thus helping to reduce imported produce. This brings us closer to meeting our carbon neutral goal in the near future.

We are delighted to be able to say we now sow, grow, handpick and supply a range of fresh salads, herbs, fruit and vegetables from our family run farm. We grow using traditional techniques while caring for the environment through the use of bio-degradable and paper bags and supply many of our vegetables without packaging. All of our seeds are certified organic and everything grown on our farm is free from all pesticides and artificial fertilizers. Our aim is to provide nutritious food having the best flavour and freshness possible for our customers to enjoy while helping to keep your family and ours healthy for the future.
